How It Works

Steve has designed and developed numerous customized presentations tailored to the unique needs of his clients. How It Works is a description for each of his different presentation forms. No matter the form or type of presentation you choose, Steve guarantees to deliver a presentation/performance that will be entertaining, interactive, and rich with content.
Your organization will benefit from one of Steve’s Keynotes, Meal Functions, Skits, Breakout sessions, or from a multiple-hour Seminar or Workshop

Keynotes communicate important issues, principles, or policies
By tradition, the keynote is the main presentation given during an event such as a conference or corporate gathering. It is generally given to the entire convention in the main room. The keynote sets the tone of the convention and carries out the theme. Its substance is customarily the over-riding topic of the gathering – it's why everyone is there. It is most often given at one of the featured spots of the event such as the opening, the closing, or in conjunction with a meal.
While the definition of keynote has softened to include most any important presentation, the importance of it's meaning has not changed. Steve's keynotes are typically 45 to 90 minutes in length.

Meal Functions allow people to break bread together
The substance of a presentation given at a Meal Function is often similar to a keynote presentation. The primary difference is the event itself. A Chamber luncheon or Association banquet are two great examples of the many varieties of meal functions. Meal functions can be stand-alone events, as opposed to a meal associated with a full- or multi day conference, or a convention breakfast, lunch or dinner. Meal function presentations can be as short as 20 minutes, but typically are 30 to 60 minutes in length.

Breakouts are less formal and have more audience participation
Steve's Breakout sessions are frequently given as a second presentation at an event such as a corporate meeting or conference. It is designed to build on the theme of the Keynote and allows for a less formal atmosphere and more audience participation. Attendees are encouraged to participate by the use of thought provoking questions and Steve’s interactive communication style. Breakout sessions are typically 45 to 90 minutes in length.

Seminars & Workshops are for sharing ideas and discussion
The following topics are all great topics that lend themselves to a seminar or workshop:
- See the Forrest Through the Trees :Strategic Thinking, Strategic Planning
- Run, Team, Run: Team Building, Creating a Positive Workplace
- That's All I've Got to Say about That!: Communication, Listening Skills
Steve's Seminars and Workshops are from 1 to 4 hours in length

Skits are 2 or more people having fun while making a serious point
Imagine a conversation on a park bench occurring between two strangers. One of the conversationalists is Forrest Gump. The other is the CEO or manager or one of the leaders of a company or organization. The conversation is scripted in the sense that the issues important to that particular organization are discussed. Just like in the movie, Forrest stumbles into the answer or new product or organizational goals. It's a humorous, fun and entertaining way to make the 3 or 4 key points specific to your organization in a fun, light-hearted manner.
To plan this presentation, Steve writes a script after a preliminary conversation with the CEO or manager (or whoever intends to sit on the bench with Forrest). Forrest initially does most of the talking – many of the famous lines from the movie are included at this time. Gradually, the conversation shifts to the other participant and it is here that the true purpose of the conversation takes place and the 3 or 4 key points are revealed. Gump can solve the problem or present the necessary solutions for the company. It's an ah-ha moment when Gump suddenly stumbles into the answer – mostly to lots of laughter and good-feelings from the audience.
Depending on the message and willingness of the primary participant, the skit is most often 10 to 20+ minutes in length.
Watch Steve perform the opening of the 2009 Sunburst Convention in Orlando with the event chairman and 100+ tribute artists and celebrity impersonators.

Everyone thinks it's a great idea to add a 2nd Presentation
Consider utilizing Steve's services and expertise for more than one type of presentation at your next meeting. By combining a Keynote with a Breakout session or Seminar you save the expense of hiring a 2nd or 3rd speaker and the associated expenses of airfare, hotel, etc. Also, consider that Steve (like the majority of other speakers) is more flexible with his fees when a 2nd or 3rd presentation is negotiated.
While Steve's first performance will always be as Forrest Gump, the 2nd or 3rd session can take on a more thoughtful tone and be delivered with more Steve and less Forrest – but always with a bit of Forrest wit and wisdom thrown in for fun.

The One-Man Play provides provocative thought and entertainment
A one-man play opens with Forrest Gump sitting on a park bench. Forrest initially introduces himself to the audience and talks a little about himself and the movie. He reminds the audience of the main themes of the movie.
After this introduction, Forrest is joined on the bench by Steve Weber. Of course Steve and Forrest are one and the same.
Forrest would be the same lovable guy from the movie, and Steve would be the Forrest Gump impersonator that he is. Forrest will provide the 'wit and wisdom' while Steve can ask the questions, offer opinions, and 'steer' the conversation.
The primary theme of the play is Individual Responsibility and designing a life by the choices you make. Many of the inspirational themes of the movie are used to drive home the points of taking responsibility, working hard, overcoming adversity, and doing your best with your God-given individual talents.
The play has several versions and can be as short as 30 minutes and as long as 75 minutes including the use video clips for dramatic effect.
